AUTOBUZZ EXTENDS REACH TO INCLUDE USED CAR CUSTOMERS



AutoBuzz, the automated communication platform that enables automotive dealer groups to increase revenue and customer experience levels between order and handover in the car buying journey, has extended its reach to incorporate used vehicle sales as well as new vehicle sales.

The new car market is showing there is a huge appetite for additional spend during the order to handover gap with 20% of customers who engage with AutoBuzz’s automated content while they wait for their car to arrive, buying additional products.

This is representing significant return on investment and enabling businesses to drive more value from smaller order numbers.

And now, dealer groups that integrate with the platform can also turn on communication for their used car customers, albeit over a smaller period of time. Despite the order to handover gap being reduced in a used car sale the desire and need to give a positive customer experience and realise the opportunity in terms of upsells, still very much exists.

Dealers can either shorten the communication level to one, two or three emails across a few days or they can maintain the same level as a new car sale, and extend the communication schedule to run post-handover, explained AutoComms Solutions’ CEO, Ingram Sanders.

“The dealers working with us are seeing fantastic results in terms of upsell on things like service plans and accessories, and these aren’t exclusive to the new car market. Often these upsells take place quite close to order point so can maximise value over a short period.”

The used car market in the UK remains buoyant in terms of demand though the value of used cars is falling, so it has become even more important to ensure every deal is maximised in terms of add-ons and that the customer is aware that the franchised dealer can supply products like paint protection and service plans.

“Just as in the new car sale, the dealers will not want customers to get to handover point without communicating things like service plans or paint protection that the customer could buy elsewhere. The AutoBuzz platform automates communication on all these opportunities and reports back to the sales team on engagement,” added the platform’s CEO.
