Customers ordering certain high end, luxury cars from Group 1 retailers in the UK will have to wait until 2023 to take delivery, according to a report on MotorTrader.com, further demonstrating the challenge that UK retailers have with extended lead times.
The order to handover gap is continuing to increase for customers ordering cars across the UK, putting pressure on sales teams constantly trying to keep customer satisfaction levels high.
CEO and president Earl Jj Hesterberg, commented on the website: “Our record profit performance this quarter was the result of continued strong consumer demand and outstanding operational performance across all business segments in the US and UK.
“In the first quarter our UK operations achieved an all-time profit record. We have a total UK new vehicle order bank of more than seven months right now with orders for some of our key luxury brand models now extending into 2023.”
