Supply chain disruptions and higher raw material prices are set to hamper the rollout of electric vehicles, report the FT, as demand for battery-powered models exceeds production capabilities.
According to the article, none of the leading manufacturers announced higher targets for electric vehicle sales, or battery production, at the Financial Times’ eighth Future of the Car summit.
At the event Elon Musk warned that his target of producing 20m electric cars per year by the end of the decade was an “aspiration, not a promise”.
